Ted Dougherty
Ted Dougherty is a writer, producer and director for large-scale seasonal events and attractions.  After spending 10 seasons as an “undead werewolf” terrifying thousands of guests at Knott’s Scary Farm, Ted began working in key creative capacities for a variety of notable entities, including Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights, Knott’s Scary Farm, Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, FX Networks, Cedar Fair, Hollow Studios, Epic Pictures  and several others.   He is the author of The History of Knott’s Scary Farm (Ultimate Haunt Publishing, 2012/2023), which won the 2013 Halloween Book Festival Best Non-Fiction Award.

EDUCATIONAL FEATURES

When not uncovering ways to scare and entertain people, Ted spends his time as a lecturer and educator to help ensure the future of these unique experiences is on a positive track.  Throughout the years he has presented for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), Transworld Halloween Attractions Show, Hauntcon, Midsummer Scream, ScareLA, Haunt X, Seasonal Entertainment Source Leadership Symposium, Halloween and Party Expo, Arcadia University, Themed Entertainment Creative Academy, The Essential Art Department, Themed Entertainment Association, and several others.  Working closely with creative executives, park owners, concept artists, art directors, technical & operational personnel, scenic and architectural drafters, casting, talent and countless more, he remains on a constant lookout for the next new nightmare.
